Beluca First Fan Meet in Manila 2023

The fan meet that I had been waiting for finally came to the Philippines, and it was all I hoped for and more

Following my discovery of Thai BL series (check out my Thai BL recos here and here , I need to update these), I ultimately went to a couple fan events that the actors had in Manila.  But I was waiting for one fan meet that I promised myself I would not miss if it happened in the Philippines, and true to my word, I was there to enjoy every minute of it. The Beluca First Fan Meet in Manila happened on December 16, 2023 at the New Frontier Theater. It was produced by Wilbros Live.

Off, Gun, Tay, and Newwie with some of their Pinoy fans

When my tier entered the venue, Off Jumpol, Gun Atthaphan, Tay Tawan, and New Thitipoom, the Beluca group’s duos, were already on-stage taking photos with concertgoers. OffGun’s latest series Cooking Crush just concluded last night, while TayNew’s series, the Thai adaptation of the Manga Cherry Magic, is on going. We had to wait until all of the photo ops were completed before the main show could began. Newwie struggled to walk because he had an ankle problem, as previously reported. But that didn’t deter him from flying all the way from Thailand with his co-stars to have fun with their Filipino Polcas.
The intro video was entertaining. It featured the game-like characters of OffGun and TayNew. My co – Fil Babiis and Fil Polcas were screaming our heads off when OffGun and TayNew appeared on stage, singing “Law of Attraction.”

Mela Habijan, a certified Fil-Polca, hosted the fan meet and demonstrated exceptional hosting skills. I wanted her to moderate the entire fan meet, and I’m pleased that Wilbros chose her. Given that it was her final hosting job before moving to Spain to study, she saved the best for last. Each of the Thai stars performed a solo song following a brief chat with Mela. Off sang “Fon Tok Mai” by Three Man Down, Gun sang “What Kind of Person” by Mix Sahaphap, Tay covered “First Love” by Nont Tanont, and Newwie did “Call Me” by Krist Perawat. Upon returning to the stage, Mela asked New to sing the chorus of “Call Me” and directed all four to execute the iconic dance of the song, which they readily followed.

OffGun and TayNew each delivered a couple of performances and played games. The fan meeting was filled with performances and the stars giving gratitude for their Filipino supporters.

Overall, the wait was truly worthwhile for me to see OffGun and TayNew in person. I really hope that they’d visit the Philippines again for their future shows because we surely couldn’t get enough of them.
