The wait to see the Thai singer-songwriter and actor was fulfilled by an engaging show that left me not wanting to get off the shuttle

Since watching the Thai series KinnPorsche, Jeff Satur’s singing skills has captured my attention. He played Kim, a pop star from a well-known mafia family. He expressed indifference in being a part of his family’s daily activities, therefore he withdrew himself from them. After being captivated by Jeff’s singing in the series, I felt compelled to learn more about the him. I discovered that he is signed to Wayfer Records, a subsidiary of Warner Music Thailand and has been singing for quite some time. Since I’ve been attending fan meetings, seeing Jeff Satur perform live was something I’d been looking forward to till the moment came.

When I found out that Jeff will take his Space Shuttle No.8 Asia Tour here in Manila, I made sure that I was able to secure a ticket and the Sunshine VIP pass which includes a soundcheck, 8 seconds to talk to Jeff, a photo, and goodbye session. The concert was held at the New Frontier Theater and it started at around 8pm. He began the show with “Steal the Show,” a song he collaborated with Korean singer-songwriter Shaun, followed by “Highway” and “Complicated.” After his introductory songs, he welcomed and thanked everyone in the theater. After a brief interaction with the audience, he sang “Hide,” “Almost Over You,” and “Lucid.” As he left the stage, a VCR started playing. He then returned to perform a cover of Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” Fifty Shades of Grey Remix, as well as my personal favorites “Dum Dum,” “Comedy,” “Stranger,” and “Black Tie.” Jeff also danced and sung BTS’ Jungkook’s “Standing Next to You,” and after singing, the audience asked him to dance the dance break again. Jeff continued to wow the audience and I was ecstatic when he sang “Why Don’t You Stay” and “Fade.” There were several notable moments from his interactions with the audience, like learning that his Filipino fans call him Jepoy, him teasing everyone by singing a part of SB19’s “Mapa,” and learning what “ang pogi ko” means.

Just me and Jeff chatting haha. Real story, the photographer didn’t call our attention so Jeff and I could look at the camera, hence the candid photo.

Before singing his encore songs, he changed into a barong that suited him well. His final songs were “Far” and “Moment.” As he said his goodbyes, I was already looking forward to meeting Jeff and having a photo with him as part of the VIP package that I availed. I was thrilled that I was able to tell him that I’m glad I finally got to see him perform live and that he keeps his promise to come back. The entire photo op ended around midnight. I felt a bit sorry for Jeff because he must be really tired and hungry from his long day. After seeing Jeff Satur live, I grew to enjoy him even more, and I will surely attend his next show here in Manila.
