RM of BTS has released a new single and music video for his song “Come Back to Me” today. The pre-release single appears on his forthcoming second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, which is scheduled for May 24.
RM debuted “Come back to me” in August 2023 with a surprise appearance at BTS bandmate SUGA’s encore concert at Seoul. Despite the fact that the song had no title, he introduced it as one of his favorites from his new project.

After nine months, the indie pop song is finally available as a digital single. It implies that everything—well, maybe not everything—eventually comes full circle. Listening to “Come back to me,” RM delved into the new album’s fundamental theme—”right and wrong”—the paradoxical want to explore new frontiers while also yearning to be satisfied in the present.

“Come back to me” features an eclectic lineup of artists, with RM penning the song’s lyrics. Kuo of the Taiwanese band Sunset Rollercoaster helped out on guitar and bass, and OHHYUK of the South Korean band HYUKOH did the composing and arranging. Additional contributors included Balming Tiger’s San Yawn and singer-songwriter JNKYRD.
With an incredible lineup of A-list actors and actresses from film and TV, the music video for “Come back to me” is another example of RM’s skill at coordinating innovative collaborations across multiple pop culture genres. Reknowned for his work on the Netflix series BEEF (2023), Lee Sung Jin served as the video’s director, producer, and writer. Joining forces were production designer Ryu Seong-Hie, known for her work in Decision to Leave (2022) and Assassination (2015), and cinematographer Kim Woo Hyung, whose credits include films like Late Autumn (2011) and 1987 (2017). Kim Minha, who played the lead in the Apple TV+ series Pachinko (2022), is also featured in the music video.

While everyone else around him is completely engrossed in the electric atmosphere, the video opens with RM staring blankly at the audience during a lively party. Viewers witness RM in a variety of costumes, seeming a little bit bewildered, as he explores numerous, almost bizarre locations inhabited by people he doesn’t know at first. After meeting someone who appears to be going through the same thing, he gradually finds comfort in the company of strangers in these unusual settings. Echoing the album’s concept, the music video depicts the weird yet familiar experience of being an outsider in unfamiliar territory.
From its eleven-alternative genre-based tracks—including the pre-release single “Come back to me”—RM’s second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person, presents an unfiltered and genuine portrayal of his unique aesthetic sensibilities, beliefs, and practices. The album, which delves into common experiences and moments of feeling unfamiliar and out of place, is set to be released on May 24th at 1 PM KST.
