The Philippines’ beloved folk-pop sensation, Ben&Ben, is back on track with the Philippine leg of their “The Traveller Across Dimensions” album tour this August! Fans in Bacolod City, Baguio City, and Davao City are in for a treat as the band brings their soul-stirring music to more venues.

Tour Dates and Locations

Mark your calendars! The highly anticipated shows will take place on three consecutive weekends:

August 16: Bacolod City at the University of St. La Salle Coliseum

August 23: Baguio City at the John Hay Convention Center

August 30: Davao City at the Holy Cross of Davao College Gym

Before these Philippine dates, Ben&Ben will make a special one-night appearance in Lincoln, California, at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort on July 12.

A Journey of Purpose and Resilience

The initial leg of the tour kicked off in Cebu City on May 24, but subsequent June dates were postponed to allow drummer Jam Villanueva to recover from De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis and Drummer’s Wrist. This challenging period became a time of reflection for the band, deepening their understanding of their journey, their connection with their fanbase (“Liwanag”), and the purpose behind their music.

The band shared, “What we have realized over the past weeks is that when we are faced with seemingly impossible challenges, we are led to a very important moment of realization. In this moment, we begin to understand that one of the ways we can overcome our struggle is by understanding the purpose of everything that we do.”

This ethos resonates deeply with the core message of “The Traveller Across Dimensions,” a concept album that follows Liwanag’s journey through various life stages, with each of the 12 songs reflecting the band members’ own growth and experiences.

What to Expect at the Concerts

Concert-goers can look forward to a captivating performance featuring tracks from “The Traveller Across Dimensions” alongside Ben&Ben’s biggest hits. Their latest single, “Saranggola,” which has quickly become a friendship anthem, will also be part of the setlist.

Beyond the music, Ben&Ben announced their commitment to partnering with non-government organizations for the Philippine leg of the tour. These partnerships will align with the band’s advocacies and will be revealed soon.

Renewed Partnership with Sony Music Philippines

Sony Music PH’s Roslyn Pineda giving her message to Ben&Ben

In exciting news for fans, Ben&Ben has renewed their partnership with Sony Music Philippines. This collaboration promises new singles and an upcoming extended play (EP).

Sony Music Philippines General Manager Roslyn Pineda expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “They are not just one of the biggest artists on our roster, but also some of the most brilliant and inspiring talents of their generation. Their music has infused our country with hope and positivity and I look forward to embarking on this new chapter together.”

During the press con that was held at 12 Monkeys Bar and Restaurant, Ben & Ben shared what made them renew their contract with the record company. “It’s two things, one is abstract, which has something to do with vision and heart. When you share a unified vision, you’re both aligned that this whole thing is headed in things that you both see. But if your heart is also shared, how you’ll get there and the spirit and purpose behind everything you do is also aligned,” explains Miguel. He continuous, “second thing, as cliché as it sounds, it’s the people. Why people matter is because they are defined by relationships. In this effort, in work, I think the relationships we have built with the team members of Sony Music over the years, and in recent months, have really been an important factor in us deciding where to go next. Our relationships with them have built trust, honesty, and have built alignment.”

This renewed partnership builds on a successful history, which began in 2019 and led to the release of their debut studio album “Limasawa Street” and the Awit Award Album of the Year-winning “Pebble House Volume I: Kuwaderno.”

Ben&Ben’s Collaborative Spirit Shines Through New Music

Ben&Ben is no stranger to collaboration, having a rich history of working with both OPM and international artists. They’ve re-recorded their hit “Leaves” with Day6’s Young K and “Autumn” with actress Belle Mariano. Their collaborative roster also includes SB19, Zild, Munimuni, Juan Karlos, and KZ Tandingan. The band also co-wrote and performed “Pasalubog” with Moira dela Torre, who released her new song, “I’m Okay,” featuring Ben&Ben today.

Singer Poppert Bernadas with Paolo Benjamin

Further expanding their collaborative reach, Paolo Benjamin Guico, one of the band’s vocalists, recently lent his voice to Poppert Bernadas’s new single, “Kung Hindi Na Kaya,” penned by Toto Sorioso. Paolo shared insights into this collaboration: “He messaged me last month. The song is something that he received from another brilliant artist, Toto Sorioso. It’s really just about lending and being of service in whatever way. And for him, he wanted to sing the song with me. Since it’s something that’s outside of what we’re doing, it was just a step towards collaborating. So, yeah, I sang half the song with him.” This highlights Ben&Ben’s commitment to supporting fellow artists and exploring new musical avenues.
