Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) and Agatha (Sofia Wylie), two outcasts and best friends in the village of Gavaldon, share the unlikeliest of ties. Sophie, a golden-haired seamstress, aspires to be a princess, whereas Agatha, with her grim appearance and eccentric mother, has all the makings of a true witch. A strong force sweeps them away one night under a blood-red moon to the School for Good and Evil, where the true stories behind every great fairy tale begin. However, something goes wrong from the start: Sophie is assigned to the School for Evil, which is managed by the glamorous and acid-tongued Lady Lesso (Charlize Theron), and Agatha is assigned to the School for Good, which is run by the sunny and kind Professor Dovey (Kerry Washington). As if getting through class with the daughters of the Wicked Witch (Freya Parks), Captain Hook (Earl Cave), and the dashing son of King Arthur (Jamie Flatters) wasn’t challenging enough, the Schoolmaster (Laurence Fishburne) claims that the only way to change the rules and send the girls to their proper schools and destinations is through the kiss of true love. But when a dark and deadly character (Kit Young) with unknown ties to Sophie reappears and threatens to completely ruin the school and the world outside — the only route to a happy ending is to first survive their real-life fairytale.
