The “Train Like an Athlete Program” under the Strong is Beautiful campaign of Kinetix Lab focuses on functional strength training for women, injury prevention, and mental resilience. It caters to both seasoned athletes and those new to fitness, as championed by female flag football players Bea Ignacio, Nina Juan, and Sri Anabo.

Real Stories from Female Flag Football Players

Bea Ignacio, Sri Anabo, and Nina Juan, all members of the internationally recognized Hurricanes Flag Football Club, exemplify the program’s benefits. These athletes balance their careers, personal lives, and demanding sports schedules.

Bea Ignacio

Bea Ignacio, 31, a “corporate athlete” and marketing professional, has a background in UAAP softball and now excels in flag football. Sri Anabo, 30, a project lead for an edu-tech company, previously played for the UP Judo Varsity team before finding flag football in 2019. Nina Juan, 25, a fitness coach and freelance actor, found flag football to be a crucial outlet for managing her Bipolar II disorder, emphasizing its role in her emotional well-being and dedication to the sport.

Flag football demands agility, speed, and explosive power, with sharp directional cuts being a key aspect of their running. To meet these demands, Bea, Sri, and Nina train rigorously at Kinetix Lab at least three times a week, in addition to their field training. They also prioritize mental preparation, with Sri focusing on resetting and staying calm during mistakes and Nina using emotions as fuel.

The Importance of Strength and Conditioning for Women

“Strength and conditioning are incredibly important for women, especially when engaging in sports or an active lifestyle,” says Kinetix Fitness Manager Coach Iggy Baldovino. Proper training not only improves overall performance but also significantly reduces the risk of injuries. “For women, building strength through training can also help balance hormones, support bone density, and boost metabolism,” he adds.

Kinetix Lab offers diverse workout and recovery programs tailored to women’s needs. The “Train Like an Athlete” program specifically helps women develop the strength, agility, and endurance necessary for athletic performance. It builds functional strength that translates to improved performance in any sport or daily routine, focusing on key muscle groups, enhancing balance, coordination, and flexibility while being mindful of women’s unique physiological needs.

Recovery: A Key Component of Training

Beyond rigorous training, these athletes prioritize recovery. Kinetix Lab’s three branches feature dedicated Recovery Rooms offering a variety of recovery and physiotherapy services. Bea, Sri, and Nina regularly schedule sessions to release tight muscles and prevent injuries, ensuring they can play pain-free.

Coach Iggy emphasizes that Kinetix Lab provides a tailored, supportive environment for women and men at every stage of their athletic journey, making it an ideal space to start or continue playing sports while improving strength and performance. While the “Train Like an Athlete” program is highlighted for women, Kinetix Lab coaches can also tailor a similar program for men looking to strengthen their bodies and improve agility for their favorite sports. The advantages of this program extend beyond sports, significantly enhancing performance in everyday activities for individuals with active lifestyles.

Bea, Sri, and Nina’s dedication to flag football and their consistent training at Kinetix Lab are setting a strong foundation for continued success and promise to inspire future generations of female flag football players.
